AERODYNAMICS

For the investigation of flow characteristics we use the software PHOENICS. This is a software for simulation of mass and heat transport processes in liquids and gases . It was developed with the aim to make the physical laws of fluid mechanics available in the form of a reliable standard program for the numerical simulation. We use this simulation technique, especially in the indoor flow and the flow around buildings. PHOENICS has been in use for many years in our engineering office.

OpenFOAM (Open Source Field Operation and Manipulation) is an open source CFD toolbox and can be used for LES calculations in the near field of individual buildings as well as indoors, as well as in RANS mode. Thanks to its flexible model grid OpenFOAM can calculate the flow around arbitrarily shaped objects. OpenFOAM is ideally suited for use in the expert's practice.
